2. How We Process Your Data
- Coverage analysis: Your trip and coverage data is processed by our AI and deterministic coverage engine to identify what you're covered for and what gaps exist.
- Proactive alerts: We monitor your coverage windows and send alerts before deadlines expire.
- Chat continuity: Conversation messages are stored so context carries across sessions. Your profile and trip data is included in chat context.
- Service improvement: We use interaction data and feedback to improve and develop our services.
- Anonymized analytics: We create anonymized, aggregate datasets from usage patterns to generate industry insights and market intelligence.
3. Data Processors

We may create, use, sell, and license anonymized, aggregate datasets and market intelligence derived from usage patterns. This data cannot be linked back to any individual user. Examples include coverage trend reports, gap analysis benchmarks, and insurance market insights.
When you click an affiliate link, the comparison service receives trip parameters (dates, destination, cost) as URL parameters — not your email or personal information.
We may disclose information when required by law, court order, or to protect our rights.
5. Cookies & Tracking
WellCovered uses a session cookie to maintain your authenticated session.
We may use first-party and third-party analytics tools to understand how our service is used and to improve the experience.
We may display relevant offers from partners based on your coverage analysis. We do not engage in surveillance advertising or cross-site retargeting.
6. Health & Sensitive Information
Coverage analysis may involve health-related information (e.g., pre-existing conditions disclosed for insurance analysis). This data is used for coverage analysis and related services, and is subject to the same protections as all other personal data.
7. Anonymized Data
We create anonymized and aggregate datasets from usage patterns across our platform. Once anonymized, this data cannot be linked back to any individual.
We may use, sell, license, and distribute these anonymized datasets and derived insights to insurance companies, industry partners, researchers, and other third parties.
Examples: coverage gap reports, regional insurance trend analysis, credit card benefit utilization benchmarks.
This is a core part of how WellCovered operates and sustains a free service.
8. Data Retention
Your data is retained as long as your account is active.
Upon account deletion, personal data is permanently removed within 30 days.
Anonymized data that cannot be linked to you may be retained indefinitely.
9. Your Rights
You can request:
- Access — a copy of all data we hold about you
- Deletion — permanent removal of your account and all associated data
- Correction — updates to inaccurate information
- Portability — your data in a machine-readable format
- Opt-out of sale — we do not sell personal information, but you may contact us to exercise this right under applicable law

10. California Residents (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) provides additional rights regarding your personal information.
Categories of personal information collected: identifiers (email, phone), commercial information (trip bookings, insurance policies), internet activity (interaction data, chat history), and inferences (coverage analysis results, recommendations).
We do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA. You may request disclosure of information collected, deletion of your data, and opt-out of any future sale of personal information.
11. Security
We protect your data with encrypted connections (TLS), secure authentication (magic links, no passwords), and access controls on our database and infrastructure. We do not store passwords because we don't use them.
12. Children's Privacy
WellCovered is not intended for children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
13. International Users
WellCovered is primarily operated in the United States. By using our service, you consent to the transfer and processing of your data in accordance with this policy.
14. Data Breach
In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify affected users and relevant authorities as required by applicable law.
